This is the :: Workbench|3D :: Information Board
The Workbench3D is a CGI/VR programming API of the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications “Heinrich Hertz Institute” (HHI) located in Berlin, Germany.
The API was developed in the department for Interactive Media (IM) in the year 2001 and got more and more features to make interactive 3-D applications easy and accessible. From this time till now, we can proudly present a lot of systems based on it.
The Workbench3D is written in C# 3.5 and integrate the DirectX 9 technology (MDX). The API allows to quickly develop some 3-D applications based on a complexe scenegraph parsing and a render-loop system. It’s include output for 3-D displays and input sensors for 3-D devices.
To best use the API you should programm with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 because a lot of forms and controls was created for it.
The real power of this API is the possibility to work with all kind of 3-D displays and TV, no matter if they use 3-D glasses or no glasses (auto-stereoscopic displays).
The second powerfull capability is to use newly input devices for touchless interactions, in the air, as you could see in the Hollywood film “Minority Report” in 2002
The Workbench3D cannot be bought at AMAZON or other shops. You have to contact the HHI and ask for the Workbench3D. Alternatively you can contact me:

In most of the case we will develop the special 3-D application for you and with you. The partnership can be based on a contract or research project. We often use licensing model to deploy the software or API.
